The South Shore Canadian Tire Mustangs finished off 2011 in style at the Bridgewater Memorial Arena today.........

The South Shore Canadian Tire Mustangs finished off 2011 in style at the Bridgewater Memorial Arena today handing the first place Halifax Titans their first regulation loss since October 16th with a hard fought 4-3 win.

Brandon Challoner led the way for the Mustangs offensively with a goal and 2 assists.  Defenceman Brennan Bailey added 2 powerplay markers.  Shaun McEachern rounded out the scoring with a goal and an assist in a great team effort.  The Mustangs built a 4-1 lead after 2 periods and hung on in the third, weathering a late charge by the Titans.

Scoring for Halifax was Jeremy Butterworth with 2 and Alex Hazelhurst.

Corey Peterson took the win in goal stopping 23 of 26 shots while Jacob Fancy took the loss stopping 20 of 24 shots.

With the win, the Mustangs head into the Hoilday break with a record of 16-10-0-1 good for 3rd place in the NSMMHL.

The Mustangs will take a week off to rest and recharge the batteries before getting back to practice in preparation for the Gatineau Kiwanis tournament which begins for the Mustangs January 4th.
