Mustangs fall in shoot out to Dartmouth

Your South Shore Canadian Tire Mustangs put in a strong 65 minute effort last night at the Bridgewater Memorial Arena falling 4-3 to the Dartmouth Major Midgets in a shoot out.
Shaun McEachern led the Mustangs with a goal and 2 assists. Also scoring for the Mustangs was Avery Clarke and Brandon Challoner.
The two teams battled hard in a back and forth affair. Dartmouth took a 2-1 lead into the final period. The Mustangs tied the game with 9:06 remaining on a goal by Shaun McEachern only to have Dartmouth regain the lead with 3:43 remaining on a goal by Cole Murphy. The Mustangs would tie the game late on an Avery Clarke powerplay goal with 55 seconds remaining.
Overtime would solve nothing and Cole Murphy would score the shootout winner.
Jack Flinn took the win for the Dartmouth Midgets making 32 saves on 35 shots while Cole Skinner took the loss making 22 saves on 25 shots.
Despite the loss the Mustangs do gain a point and are undefeated in regulation in their last 6 outings. The team currently sits in 3rd place in the NSMMHL.
The Mustangs will look to get back in the win column this Saturday night, 8:00pm at the Bridgewater Memorial Arena when they take on the Cole Harbor Pro Hockey Life Wolfpack
