The South Shore Mustangs squandered a 3-1 lead heading into the third period but rebounded with an OT win.

The Mustangs were in control of the game from the start and held a hefty advantage in shots heading into the third period and leading on the scoreboard 3-1.  A meltdown or a sleepwalk...what ever you want to call it, the Mustangs did not show up to start the 3rd period and surrendered 4 goals in an 8 minute span to fall behind 5-4 to the pesky Wildcats who showed no quit.

After a time out the team regrouped and got back to playing hockey and scored two goals in the final 11 minutes to send the game to overtime where Captain, Jagger Harnish scored his second goal of the game, a rebound off a Ryan Graves blast,  35 seconds in to send the fans home happy.

Scoring for the Mustangs were: Brandon Verge (1 goal 3 assists), Jagger Harnish (2 goals, 1 assist), Brennan Bailey (1 goal, 1 assist), Tyler Quinlan and Cody Slaght.  Avery Clarke chipped in 2 assists.

Shots favored the mustangs 38-22.

The Mustangs are back in action this Saturday when they travel to take on Cole Harbour, and on Sunday where they host the Dartmouth Ice Dawgs at 10:30am in Chester.
