Mustangs Drafted at MHL Entry Draft

Three Canadian Tire Mustangs heard their name called at the MHL (formerly MJAHL) Draft held Saturday June 12th, at the Bridgewater Memorial Arena.

Goaltender Billy Clarke was taken by the Bridgewater Lumberjacks as their first territorial pick late in round 2. As a rookie Billy played in 26 games compiling a record of 7-17-1 with 1 shutout. Billy is "happy to be chosen in the draft" and is "looking forward to doing my best at training camp."

Forward Brandon Verge was taken 2nd in the 6th round by the Weeks Crushers. Verge led the Mustangs in scoring last season posting 17 goals and adding 11 assists in  35 games. Brandon "sat nervously waiting to hear his name and now that (he's) picked, can't wait to get to training camp."

Goaltender Evan DeViller was chosen by the Weeks Crushers in the 10th round. DeViller played in 12 games last season with a GAA
of 4.68. Evan is "thrilled to be going to such a great organization!"

The Mustang executive and staff wish all three players best of luck at their respective training camps this August.
