The Canadian Tire Mustangs would like to congratulate two members of the organization for winning awards at the Annual NSMMHL Awards Banquet held on May 8th in Truro. Team Captain Graham Mann won the John Hanna Memorial Award given annually to the Most Sportsmanllike Player. He also took home a $500 scholarship from the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles.
Eric Caines was the well deserved winner of the team volunteer award. Eric, his wife Beth, and sons Andrew and Todd give tirelessly to the organization each year. Eric is Vice President of the team, a billet home, our game announcer and timekeeper, he is involved with organizing the golf tournament, he helps with skate sharpening, dressing room maintenance, he books hotels and busses, and he, Beth and son Andrew spent an entire week last summer putting a fresh coat of paint on the walls of the team dressing room. Eric and the entire Caines family are a strong component in making each hockey season a success and their involvement over the past 5+ years has helped change the direction of the team for the better.
Congratulations Graham and Eric!
