ACCIDENT UPDATE

2008-12-18

The Canadian Tire Mustangs would like to issue the following update with regards to the recent motor vehicle accident involving two of our players and their mother’s. Early Sunday evening. The boys were traveling home from a league game in Pictou when a car traveling in the opposite direction crossed the centre line and crashed into the van carrying the two Mustangs. Ben Bailey, goalie for the South Shore Mustangs, awaits surgery at the QEII Hospital in Halifax for extensive facial injuries suffered in a car crash on Hwy 103 early Sunday evening. He is expected to have surgery on Friday. His injuries are serious but no longer believed to be life threatening. His mother Rachel is also recovering at the QEII with a broken nose and elbow. Ben's teammate Jeremy Church was also in the van but escaped injury, and Jeremy's mother Sherry received surgery on Monday to repair a broken wrist. The entire Mustang family extends their condolences to the families of the individuals who died as a result of this accident. We would also like to thank all those who have extended their concern and support to us during this time. The hockey family; including the NSMMHL, HNSMC, HNS and Hockey Canada, have been excellent in the support they have extended to us. We are very much appreciative of this support and we have communicated the same to both the Bailey & Church families. Communication can be sent to our team address: PO Box 444, Bridgewater, NS, B4V 2X6 or to hdwalker@eastlink.ca and we will pass it on to the appropriate family
