Creaser makes it five
Finally some payback against a tough Valley squad . . .
In the Eastlink game of the week the Mustangs had something to prove. After the Valley seemingly had their number this year to date. The Charlie's Pizza South Shore Mustangs were not going to let points slip away tonight.
Pregame hype and the added pressure of the televised game did not become a distraction as the boys were able to keep this game in perspective. By getting pucks to the net and fighting for those precious rebounds near the blue paint the Mustangs ended up outshooting the Valley two to one. That effort helped pave the way for a 5-0 victory and a room full of smiles.
The Mustangs were able to control but not stop the Valley top line from getting chances. Nick Dawe posted the shutout and made some key saves when the game could have gone either way. Defensively the Mustangs continue to improve but they know there is still lots of work ahead but these guys are up for the challenge.
The schedule doesn’t get any easier after the long road trips in November and the players are looking forward to what’s coming down the road in December. Your Mustangs are working hard in preparation to face the top teams in the league. As teams start to perfect their game things will get just that much harder in a league that everyone competes hard for valuable points.
