2008-09-06

The Mustangs open their 2008-09 season with many changes. The Mustangs are proud to announce a new title sponsorship agreement with the Bridgewater Canadian Tire. Ron Anaka & Jody O'Donnell have returned to operate the local store and have signed on as title sponsors. The team will now be known as the Canadian Tire Mustangs. Our new sweaters and logo will be unveiled at our home opener on Thursday night. Four new staff members will be part of the 2008-09 team. Brad Muise assumes the role of Head Coach & Director of Hockey Operations. Paul McCallion (Assistant Coach), Paul Whynot (Equipment Manager) and Lynsie MacDonald (Trainer) are also new additions to our staff. Together, with Jason Knickle, our returning goaltending/strength & conditioning coach, they will provide excellent leadership to this year's group of Mustangs. The 2008-09 Canadian Tire Mustangs will have six returning players: Bryce Hirtle, Jacob Conrad, Graham Mann, Jack Strowbridge, Logan Quinlan & Ben Bailey. They will be expected to provide strong leadership, on and off the ice, to the crop of new players. New Canadian Tire Mustangs are: Goaltender Colin Huskins (Lower East Pubnico); defencemen Connor Marsh (Liverpool), Colby Gosbee (Shelburne), Nolan Miller (Falmouth), Ian Mitchell (Lunenburg), Ryan Sanford (Pine Grove); forwards Evan Lenihan (New Ross), Jagger Harnish (Hubbards), Dylan Ventresca (Dartmouth), Logan Phillips (Kentville), Brandon Verge (Hubbards), Chris Pongoski (Coldbrook), Tyler Quinlan (Cape Sable Island), Jessee Drennan (Lunenburg), Fraser MacQueen (Bridgewater), Jeremy Church (Lunenburg).
