CHASE THE ACE - $1000 Jackpot

Let’s reduce the cost of hockey so more players can play this great game!

As you know, minor hockey is part of our Canadian culture and plays a big role in our local communities.  Minor hockey plays a large role in influencing the youth in our community.  There are many reasons why kids play hockey.  Some kids are just learning to play, while others play just to be part of a team.  No matter the case, being part of a minor hockey team is like playing in the NHL to many of our youth.  Minor hockey gives our players the opportunity to be part of a team, develop their self-confidence, develop their skills and most importantly, create lifelong friendships and memories while having lots of fun throughout the season.

Some love to play but due to skyrocketing costs, it puts a difficult strain on families.  We all know that the cost of hockey is preventing some young members of our community from playing this great sport.  The Board Members of the South Shore Minor Hockey Association have decided to do something about it.  The SSMHA has partnered with the South Shore Mustangs Major Midget Hockey Club to help bring down the cost of minor hockey in our community.  Starting Saturday, October 18, 2014 the LCLC will be the weekly venue host of the SSMHA Chase The Ace Fundraiser.  Every week 50/50 tickets will be sold where the winner will get a chance to select a single card from the current round’s deck of cards.  If the card drawn is the Ace of Spades, the ticket holder will win the jackpot!

Some examples of the potential direct impact are:

• SSMHA profit of $50,000, registration will be reduced by approx. $170
• SSMHA profit of $75,000, registration will be reduced by approx. $260
